Eisenhower Memorial Commission Announces Short List of Designers

A short list of seven prospective designers has been announced by the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial Commission to design the memorial in Washington for President Eisenhower, reports the New York Times. The final selection will be made in March. The memorial will be built on a four-acre site near the Department of Education and the National Air and Space Museum, between Fourth and Sixth Streets SW, south of Independence Avenue.
The chosen seven are Frank Gehry of Gehry Partners, Ralph Johnson of Perkins & Will, Ron Krueck of Krueck & Sexton, Rob Rogersand Jonathan Marvel of Rogers Marvel Architects, Moshe Safdie of Moshe Safdie & Associates, Stanley Saitowitz of Natoma Architects, and Peter Walker of PWP Landscape Architecture.
