Street Artist Adam Neate to Give Away Art

Published: November 10, 2008
LONDON—One of the world's leading street artists, Adam Neate, will be giving away a thousand pieces of his art on Friday by leaving them in public places for people to take, reports the Independent. Starting at dawn, helpers will distribute Neate's paintings on the outskirts of the city, moving towards the center as the day goes on. Some will be left at famous landmarks, while others will be placed in rougher areas of the city, such as Lambeth and Hackney.

Neate left art on the streets of Ipswich in the early stages of his career, but has not done so in the past four years. Although his work now sells for up to £43,000 each and has been shown at the fashionable Elms Lesters Painting Rooms in London, he originally created work designed for urban locations.
