MIAMI— The
Frost Art Museum at Miami's
Florida International University is set to open its new home on November 29, reports Artnet. Designed by
Yann Weymouth of the firm
hok, the $16 million, 46,000-square-foot facility includes 10,000 square feet of gallery space, almost four times that in the former museum. Kicking off just in time for
Art Basel Miami Beach, the museum will have six different shows on view, including "Modern Masters from the Smithsonian American Art Museum," and will host a "Breakfast in the Park" event during the fair to honor sculptor
Joel Shapiro.
