One of the highlights of
Frieze week in London was not at the fair itself but at London’s
Old Vic, where
Drama Queens, a one-act play by the Berlin-based artistic duo
Michael Elmgreen &
Ingar Dragset, brought famous sculptures to life via remote control. The voices behind the fiberglass creations belonged to a sensational cast that included
Jeremy Irons, as
Giacometti’s
Walking Man;
Kevin Spacey, as
Jeff Koons’s
Rabbit; and as
Sol LeWitt’s
Four Cubes, the dreamy
Shakespeare in Love star
Joseph Fiennes. The 38-year-old actor is no stranger to aesthetic appreciation: He collects photography and has a ravishing artist girlfriend, the model and former Miss Switzerland finalist
Maria Dolores Diéguez, who’s studying at London’s
Chelsea College of Art and Design.
