LONDON—The U.K. car company Vauxhall has announced the 2008 members of its annual Vauxhall Collective, each of whom will receive a commission of up to £20,000 intended to help them advance in their careers.

The selected young creatives include Matthew Darbyshire for fine art, Gayle Chong Kwan for photography, product designer Simon Hasan for craft and design, shoe designer Jonathan Kelsey for fashion, artist and independent filmmaker Ben Rivers for film, and Gideon Reeling for theater.

The six commissions are to tie into the theme "The Great British Road Trip." The members were selected by a "style council" made up of representatives of British organizations including Hayward Gallery, the IFA, and the London College of Fashion.
