Interest in the car was high due in part to the release of the newest Bond movie, Quantum of Solace. Several people bid on the white sports car, including the winner who described himself as both a James Bond and Lotus aficionado. 

This car was one of two used in the film, where it is amphibious, driving on both land and water.
