A hipper-than-thou crowd assembled for the opening of the artist
Terence Koh’s first painting show, hosted by
Julian Schnabel’s son
Vito, the wunderkind art dealer and rumored
Elle MacPherson dater, below with Koh. The soirée took place in the vast former New York studio of the late photographer
Richard Avedon, now home to the French president’s half brother,
Olivier Sarkozy, and Olivier’s wife,
Charlotte, not to mention their art, including works by
Haring,
Basquiat and
Banksy. Present were not only Koh’s fans, like hipster artist
Dash Snow and collectors
Phil and
Shelley Aarons, but also the designer
Zac Posen and the novelist
Salman Rushdie. Koh remained blasé: "Oh, these are just fun, easy paintings," he said with
Warholian nonchalance. "Anything would look beautiful in here."
