One proposal involves the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where an $80 million reconstruction of the institution's loading docks and other infrastructure improvements are estimated to create nearly 900 jobs. The city of Philadelphia is also prepared to spend $20 million on improvements for its "Avenue of the Arts," a project that could result in 222 jobs. The second museum on the mayors' list is the Miami Art Museum, which is planning a new $87 million building on a 29-acre park on Biscayne Bay. Miami hopes to receive $70 million in funding for the construction of the park, which would create 1,400 jobs. |
