Last week, ARTINFO's sister publication Art+Auction threw a party in Moscow to celebrate the December 2008 launch of Art+Auction Russia, the magazine's first international version. The event, hosted by ArtMedia Group, which will publish the magazine in Russian, took place at the upscale Casta Diva restaurant on December 11. Attendees included Maxim Maslakov, CEO of ArtMedia Group, and Louise Blouin, owner of Art+Auction publisher LBM Media, as well as a who's who of the Russian art world: Igor Markin, the founder of one of the first Russian private contemporary-art museums, Art4.ru; Joseph Bakstein, curator of the Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art and the current three-venue Kabakov retrospective in Moscow, as well as founder and director of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Moscow; Olga Sviblova, head and founder of the Moscow House of Photography; Sofia Trotsenko, art collector and head of Winzavod Contemporary Art Center; and many others.

Also last week, "Papercut" opened at Heist Gallery on New York's Lower East Side. The group show of works on paper, which runs through January 11, includes art by ARTINFO's managing/photo editor, Chris Bors; we caught up with him at the December 13 opening.
