NEW YORK—Architect and industrial designer Oliver Lincoln Lundquist died on January 2 of prostate cancer, at the age of 92, the New York Times reports. Lundquist led the team responsible for designing all the graphics for the San Francisco conference at which the United Nations Charter was signed, in 1945. The team created an official delegate's badge for the conference, which became the prototype for the U.N. logo. Lundquist had previously worked in the industrial design office of Raymond Loewy, where he was trained by Loewy and worked on the Chrysler Motors Exhibition for the 1939 New York World's Fair. Lundquist was also a partner in the architectural firms Van Der Lanken & Lundquist and Lundquist & Stonehill, where he worked on projects ranging from private residences to Parks Department buildings to the renovation of the New York headquarters of Sotheby Parke Bernet auctioneers.
