LOS ANGELES—Last weekend, artists, photographers, gallerists, and collectors flocked to Los Angeles for Photo LA 2009, the 18th annual Los Angeles Photographic Art Exposition. The show ran January 9–11, with a benefit reception for the photography department of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on January 8. Among the crowd that night, ARTINFO spotted dealer Stephen Cohen, the director of Photo LA, as well as gallerists Michael Foley, Paul Kopeikin, and Catherine Couturier; photographers Alex Prager, Jeff Dunas, Nick Ut, Susan Anderson, and Douglas Kirkland; actress and former talk-show host Ricki Lake; and a host of others.
