The U.S. branch of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA/USA) has announced the winners of its 25th annual arts awards.
Winning projects from the 2007–08 exhibition season were nominated and voted on by the 400 members of the U.S. section of the association, and include: "Jasper Johns: Gray," organized by the Art Institute of Chicago, for Best Monographic Museum Show Nationally; "Louise Bourgeois," organized by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, for Best Monographic Show in New York City; "Action/Abstraction: Pollock, de Kooning, and American Art, 1940–1976," organized by the Jewish Museum, for Best Thematic Museum Show in New York City; "Frederic Keisler: Co-Realities," organized by the Drawing Center, for Best Show in a Non-profit Gallery or Space; "Buckminster Fuller: Starting with the Universe," organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art, for Best Architecture or Design Show; "Gustave Courbet," organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, for Best Historical Show; "California Video," organized by the J. Paul Getty Museum and the Getty Research Center, for Best Exhibition of Digital Media, Video, or Film; and "Allan Kaprow: 18 Happenings in 6 Parts (Re-doing)," presented by Performa 07, for Best Performance.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Guggenheim Museum in New York on March 2. A full list of first- and second-place winners will be available soon on the AICA's Web site.
