RABAT, Morocco—In an effort to express their support for Palestinians in Gaza, 40 Moroccan artists donated their paintings to a benefit auction at the Mohammed V National Theater of Rabat, Agence France-Presse reports via Artforum. The group of donating artists includes Mahi Binebine, Mohamed Melehi, Farid Belkahia, Fouad Bellamine, and Abdellatif Zine, who were joined by hundreds of writers, actors, and singers. Moroccan minister of culture Touria Jabrane, the organizer of the event, told the AFP: “What is happening in Gaza is a devastation due to Israeli aggression and arrogance.” A representative for the Palestinian Authority, Hassan Abdel Rahman, was also present and expressed gratitude to the officials and participants of the event.
