Francesco Vezzoli's new faux fragrance, Greed
ROME— Milan-based artist Francesco Vezzoli is officially launching a faux perfume, Greed, modeled on Duchamp's 1921 perfume Belle Haleine, with a show at Gagosian Gallery in Rome from February 6 through March 21. Described as "a signature perfume for the contemporary moment," Greed, which exists only as a concept, not as an actual perfume, comes in a bottle featuring Vezzoli in drag. Greed will be promoted in a 60-second commercial directed by acclaimed filmmaker Roman Polanksi and starring Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams.
