A Global Perspective

Published: February 2, 2009
Last week, Triflow Concepts hosted a party to launch a new faucet designed by Zaha Hadid — the latest in a flurry of projects by the starchitect. The trendy party took place on January 28 at Chinese contemporary art gallery the Red Mansion Foundation in London and counted among its guests artists Peter Blake and Jann Haworth, British designers Nicholas Haslam and Henry Holland, and arts patron Kay Saatchi.

Meanwhile, the week before, New York's Tyler Rollins Fine Art opened its current exhibition, "In Full Bloom," featuring photographs by Ron Agam and on view through February 27. The show is the first in a series at the gallery focusing on New York artists with a global perspective in their work. On hand to toast the artist, who was born in Paris and raised in New York and Israel, and who was made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor last year by the French government, were the Israeli and French Consul Generals in New York, as well as Pauline Willis, acting director of the American Federation of Arts, and other high-profile names.

Also, the week before that, Gallery KH in Chicago kicked off its new show, of paintings by Roman Zaslonov. "From Russia with Love," as the exhibition is called, is Zaslonov's U.S. premiere, on view through March 7.
