Damien Hirst has opened a second shop in London to hawk his goods as well as pieces by other artists, Bloomberg reports.
The artist opened a first branch of his store Other Criteria in October on Bond Street, next to Sotheby’s. The new branch is at 14 Hinde Street in the Marylebone district.
Other Criteria sells several works by Hirst, ranging from his keyrings, for £3.5 ($5) each, to prints of pills in a medicine cabinet, for £4,000 apiece.
Next week, the new store is launching Love is a Bird, Love is a Burden, a limited-edition resin sculpture by artists Sarah Lucas and Olivier Garbay, valued at £3,000. The Anglo-French pair has also collaborated on a book, which sells for £75.
“Other Criteria makes objects and books created by artists to an exceptional standard,” Hirst wrote in an e-mail. “I don’t think art has ever been as popular as it is today, and Other Criteria aims to sell affordable art of the highest quality to everyone who wants it.”
Meanwhile, the Stuckists, an activist group opposed to conceptual art, has opened an online store to sell products satirizing works by Hirst, the Chapman Brothers, and D*Face.
A print inspired by Hirst’s £50 million, diamond-encrusted skull, For the Love of God, is available for £13 in an edition of 1,300.
