NEW YORK— The economy is in freefall and art fairs are collapsing left and right, but the Art Dealer’s Association of America’s (ADAA) Art Show will go on as it has every year since 1988.

For its 21st edition, which previews tomorrow and runs February 19–23 in the Seventh Regiment Armory, the fair is sticking to its tried-and-true format. With a manageable roster of 70 galleries (60 of them from New York) offering a variety of styles and prices (works range from Old Masters to cutting-edge contemporary), organizers hope to avoid the recession blowback that's befallen some of its larger, hipper, less blue-chip-oriented peers.

In advance of tomorrow’s festivities, ARTINFO has selected 29 works on offer at this year’s fair for a behind-the-scenes preview.
