Published: February 24, 2009
LONDON—The Serpentine Gallery has announced the Japanese practice Sanaa as the architect for this year's summer pavilion.

Founded by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa in 1995, Sanaa counts among its recent accomplishments the acclaimed new home on the Bowery for the New Museum in New York and the Glass Pavilion at the Toledo Museum of Art in Ohio.

The pavilion will stand in Kensington Gardens for three months this summer. Last year’s pavilion was designed by Frank Gehry. Previous designers include Rem Koolhaas, Zaha Hadid, and Daniel Libeskind.
