As architecture firms everywhere are feeling the results of the credit crunch, five top firms in Scotland are participating in a challenge to design structures built out of Legos, reports the BBC.
The model-size results will be shown at the Scottish Design Awards Nominations Exhibition today and will be auctioned off after the winner is announced at the Scottish Design Awards Gala Dinner on May 29. Proceeds will benefit the National Autism Society Scotland.
Participating firms include: Aedas, Gareth Hoskins Architects, gm+ad, Michael Gilmour Associates, and RMJM.
It’s amazing to think all the teams started out of standard Lego building bricks," said Isabel Garriga of gm+ad. “Imagine what could have been achieved if they were working with real bricks.”
