Eva Rothschild Wins Tate Britain Commission

Published: March 30, 2009
LONDON—Irish sculptor Eva Rothschild is the third artist to be awarded Tate Britain’s prestigious Duveens Commission, following Mark Wallinger and Martin Creed, the Evening Standard reports.

The 36-year-old artist will install her work this June in the museum’s Duveen Galleries, but she has revealed little about the Sotheby’s-sponsored commission, other than that it would span the entire 230-foot length of the exhibition space.

"I'm hoping to create something that will agitate the architecture of the Duveens Galleries, tangling with your perception of the space," she said.
