CIRQUE DU SOLEIL "O"
While you may have to wait until later this year for Cirque Du Soleil’s Elvis-themed extravaganza, one of our favorite acts in town is "O," one off Cirque’s nine permanent shows on the Strip. Flying through the air — and swimming underwater — with the greatest of ease are world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers, and other characters, who come together to create a jaw-dropping experience. "O" is performed twice nightly, at 7:30 and 10:30, Wednesdays through Sundays.

Get out of town to see the desert at Red Rock Canyon, which lies just west of the city. Bicycle riding, hiking, and just plain hanging out can all be part of your itinerary.

And don't miss: the Springs Reserve, which is a new mini–state park near downtown. It will include the Nevada State Museum, scheduled to open sometime this year, and feature a historic collection of Nevada-inspired items. And Wolfgang Puck has opened his Springs Café there, which overlooks the valley and the Strip. No wonder this gem has gained a cult following among locals.
