NEW YORK— New York nonprofit
Creative Time’s annual gala benefit was held last Wednesday, May 6. Centered around the theme “Getting Lucky,” the event honored
Melva Bucksbaum and
Raymond Learsy “for their patronage and support of contemporary art” and featured cocktails, dinner, and dancing — as well as a silent live auction conducted by
Phillips de Pury’s
Alexander Gilkes. A host of artists came out, including
Timothy Greenfield-Sanders,
Lorna Simpson,
Will Cotton, and
Cindy Sherman (who was accompanied by her beau, musician
David Byrne). Also in attendance were dealer
Mary Boone, the
Whitney Museum’s
Adam Weinberg, and collectors
Don and Mera Rubell.
