44 lots sold for Y347,900,000 ($4 million) TOKYO—Top lot: A 1919 still life by Ryusei Kishida, a Japanese painter who died at the age of 38, 10 years after completing the canvas, fetched Y135 million ($1.4 million). The third major Kishida to show up at auction in the past six months, this was by far the most expensive. "In Brief: Shinwa Art Auction" originally appeared in the June 2009 issue of Art+Auction.
