LONDON—Top lot: A diptych by the Brazilian contemporary artist Adriana Varejão accounted, rather unexpectedly, for nearly a fifth of the sale’s gross. The work’s high estimate was only £3,000 ($4,000), but wound up bringing £73,250 ($101,000).
