Changing Hue

By Judd Tully

Published: July 1, 2009
Turrell’s attorney, Gregory Clarick, of the New York firm Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, disputes that contention and says the artist intends to "fully enforce his rights against Hue-Williams for the unlawful conduct, notwithstanding the bankruptcy filing."

The dealer intends to return to the Mayfair gallery district, where he formerly occupied a space on Cork Street. "We’re just going to be in a different venue, more in the heart of things," he says. He plans to reopen in October with a show of French artist Kader Attia.

Hue-Williams may have cut back, but he still has big plans. He’s asked the architect David Adjaye to design his new space. "We’ll see how fast we can pull it together."
