Apr. 11: European Furniture & Decorative Arts BOSTON—Top lot: The consignor of this 16th-century Flemish tapestry received it as a gift from the publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst. The 18-foot swath of cloth fetched $237,000 — more than four times its high estimate. "In Brief: Skinner" originally appeared in the July/August 2009 issue of Art+Auction.
