MOUNTAINVILLE, N.Y.— As anyone in New York knows, the weather this month has been almost nothing but rain. But there has been a nice day or two, and earlier in the month, Storm King Art Center got lucky enough to host its annual luncheon on one of them. The event celebrated the opening of Maya Lin's new earthwork for the sculpture park, Storm King Wavefield, as well as a related indoor exhibition, "Maya Lin: Bodies of Water."

Almost 250 people made the trek up to Mountainville, New York, for the event, including artists Robert Mangold and Sylvia Plimack Mangold, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, and Chakaia Booker; Metropolitan Museum of Art Director Thomas Campbell; arts patrons Leon and Cynthia Hazen Polsky; and Carol LeWitt, the wife of the late artist Sol LeWitt.
