Obama Art Book Coming This Fall

Published: July 14, 2009
NEW YORK—If you just can't get enough Obama art — or maybe you're feeling nostalgic for the good old days of the 2008 presidential campaign — you're in luck. This fall, Abrams Image will publish Art for Obama: Designing Manifest Hope and the Campaign for Change, a book chronicling art inspired by the 44th president.

Weighing in at 184 pages, the book will feature 150 full-color illustrations of artwork by such artists as Ron English, David Choe, Maya Hayuk, and, of course, the ubiquitous Shepard Fairey, who is editing the endeavor along with Jennifer Gross. It will include images of work shown in the grassroots Manifesta Hope Art Galleries set up in Denver during the Democratic National Convention and in Washington, D.C., before the inauguration. And in case that's not enough to convince you to shell out $22.50, all of the proceeds will go to charity, to the nonprofit Americans for the Arts
