O’Keeffe Museum, School End Their Differences
Published: August 12, 2009
The school’s principal and PTA president had been so alarmed by the e-mails that they raised the possibility of changing the school's name. But following a meeting with the principal, the museum said in a statement it does not object to either the school’s use of O’Keeffe’s name or the selling of T-shirts that feature the name for fund-raising purposes. The statement noted the museum's "regret over the misinterpretation of issues" in its correspondence with the school. Museum officials also said the school does not need permission to put its name on any items given to students or pay a fee when such items are sold, according to the principal. |
