At London Fair, Higher Seller Fees May Mean Higher Attendance

Published: August 12, 2009
LONDON—London International Fine Art Fair organizers David and Lee Ann Lester are raising marketing fees for exhibitors in the hopes of increasing attendance as well. The idea is for sellers to pay a fee of £1,500 ($2,478) — twice what it cost last year, when the fair was called the Olympia International Art & Antiques Fair — and receive an unlimited number of complimentary tickets to the event. For each ticket that is redeemed, the gallery or seller who provided it will receive a £5 refund, thus encouraging them to get as many attendees as possible. The fair runs June 4-13 next year.
