Hasted Hunt Gets New Partner, Location

Published: September 16, 2009
NEW YORK—Chelsea gallery Hasted Hunt will get a new partner and a new name when it reopens at a different location on Oct. 1.

Joseph Kraeutler will join Sarah Hasted and W.M. Hunt at their eponymous gallery, which will now be called Hasted Hunt Kraeutler and located at 537 West 24th Street, the space formerly occupied by Charles Cowles Gallery, which closed this summer. Kraeutler most recently worked as managing director at Klever Holding, where he handled art holdings, and at Philips de Pury, where he was New York director of photographs.

In its fourth year of existence, Hasted Hunt has developed a reputation for being an important source in the photography world, representing artists like Michael Thompson, Andreas Gefeller, Martin Schoeller, and Paolo Ventura. The gallery will inaugurate its new space with “Edward Burtynsky: Oil,” which opens Tuesday, Oct. 6.
