The Pollock-Krasner Foundationhas award a total of $2,093,140 in 125 grants to individual artists and arts organizations. Averaging about $16,000 apiece this year, the grants are given to professional visual artists internationally, based on artistic merit and financial need. The foundation, named after Jackson Pollock and his wife, Lee Krasner, was established in 1985 to provide financial assistance to visual artists. Last year the New York–based foundation issued 110 grants totaling $1,935,000.
