Five Pritzker Winners to Help Design French Arts Center

Tadao Ando, the head architect involved in the process, discussed his plans for the project with Bloomberg in Tokyo, noting that Jean Nouvel is responsible for the wine cellar and that Frank Gehry is designing a music pavilion. Sir Norman Foster and Renzo Piano will provide other, unspecified buildings. Ando told Bloomberg, “We’re creating a space filled with water, and the gallery will appear to float on top of it.” He was recently involved in remodeling the Punta della Dogana, a 17th-century customs house in Venice, for collector François Pinault, who now uses the space to show his vast art collection. |
