MONTE CARLO—Top lot: A platinum and yellow-gold rivière necklace with 36 alternating small and large diamonds caused an international frenzy, as phone bidders from Russia, Belgium, Switzerland and the Middle East vied for the piece, which a European buyer eventually won for €242,500 ($396,568). The necklace was one of the alluring 357 lots of jewelry and watches, which accounted for about 80 percent of the house’s total sale in Monaco.
