Americana 921 lots sold for approx. $1 million EAST DENNIS, Mass.—Top lot: Overcoming missing parts and some peeling of its original red, blue and gold paint, a 19th-century tin hose reel pulled in $48,875, almost 50 times its high estimate of $1,000. Though attributed to toymaker Althof Bergmann in the catalogue, it was created by clockwork maker George Brown. "In Brief: Eldred's" originally appeared in the October 2009 issue of Art+Auction.
