ABU DHABI—While art industry professionals try to sort out the health of the contemporary-art market in its traditional strongholds — New York, London, Paris — organizers of the new Abu Dhabi Art fair are sending positive signals from the Middle East, announcing a list of exhibitors that includes a lengthy, international list of sterling names.

The modern and contemporary-art fair, which will be held Nov. 19-22 at the Emirates Hotel, will feature such galleries as Acquavella, Gagosian, Thaddeus Ropac, White Cube, and a variety of other exhibitors from the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

The international committee for the event also includes a star-studded cast of individuals, including Jeff Koons, Christie’s owner and art collector François Pinault, and collector Anupam Poddar.
