LONDON—New York and San Francisco gallerist Jack Hanley's booth is dominated by the work of 29-year-old artist Ajit Chauhan, who erases album covers with sandpaper, leaving their surfaces entirely white save for key bits, such as eyes and hair; aficionados of '70s and '80s music are able to pick out productions by the likes of U2 and Huey Lewis and the News. A large piece, composed of over 100 albums, was picked up by Charles Saatchi, for $25,000, and a smaller multi-album work went to New York collector Phil Aarons. Considering the subject matter, it's not surprising that Chauhan's fans include Lily Allen and Peter Gabriel.
