Published: October 14, 2009
LONDON—By the end of Frieze's preview day, New York gallery Lehmann Maupin had sold several works, including a large abstract painting by Shirazeh Houshiary for £140,000 ($224,000) and two paintings by the Japanese artist known as Mr., for $60,000 and $35,000.

The gallery also sold a couple of specially commissioned neons by Tracey Emin, one to Fernando Frances Garcia, director of the CAC Malaga, as a gift for his wife, and another to New York-based collecting couple Amy and John Phelan. A large Emin neon in the gallery's booth that reads "In Between Your Heart and Soul I Rest with You" attracted a lot of attention, but, alas, is not for sale. It was commissioned by Lehmann Maupin co-owner Rachel Lehmann.
