Victim of Warhol Portrait Theft Cancels Insurance Claim

Andy Warhol's portrait of Richard L. Weisman, which was among the works reported stolen from the collector's home.
Weisman has not commented publicly on the unusual move, but told the Seattle Times in a recent interview, “[Insurance investigators] turn you into a suspect. I just finally told them, ‘I’m not going to go through it for three to five years. Forget it’.” Detective Don Hrycyk of the Los Angeles Police Department stated that the investigation of the theft continues, though he noted that Weisman has not returned recent phone calls regarding the search for the missing works. |
