Zilla Leutenegger Wins Zürich Art Award

NEW YORK— Swiss artist Zilla Leutenegger, known for her installations that often combine projected light and a wall drawing, has received the 2009 Art Award of the Canton of Zürich. The award was given for her recently completed installation Schlafbrille.

Schlafbrille, which depicts a gestural drawing of woman with a sleeping mask under a bright projected light, will be shown at Perry Rubenstein Gallery’s booth at the FIAC Art Fair in Paris, Oct. 21–25. The installation will be shown along other works by Leutenegger, as well as works by FAILE and Robin Rhode.

Schlafbrille is curently on view as part of “Werkschau 09” at F+F Schule für Kunst und Mediendesign in Zürich.
