Antiquing for Charity
Published: October 20, 2009
NEW YORK—Though the International Fine Art and Antiques Dealers Show didn’t open until Friday, Oct. 16, members of the fashion, jewelry, business, and antique worlds got a sneak preview the day before at a special benefit for the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center at the Park Avenue Armory.
The show, which launched in 1989 as the first vetted antique fair in New York, showcases work from many of the world’s most prestigious dealers. Visitors to the dozens of booths are able to encounter and potentially purchase an international assortment of arms, armor, books, carpets, watches, furniture, and maritime objects. The show runs through Thursday, Oct. 22. |
