IFPDA Print Fair at the Park Avenue Armory
New York
Nov. 5 – 8

Limited to members of the esteemed International Fine Print Dealers Association, this foremost fair in the field never disappoints with its plenitude of top-notch printed matter. Look for a new set of five prints, each in an edition of 20, by 2006 Turner Prize winner Tomma Abts at the booth of San Francisco’s Crown Point Press, which published the series. Untitled (triangle), 2009, is $1,500 per print.

ARTISSIMA 16 at Lingotto Fiere
Turin
Nov. 6 – 8

This edgy show, subheaded the International Fair of Contemporary Art in Turin, is now in its 16th year but is still very fresh, focusing on the best emerging-art galleries from all over as well as progressive longtime dealers. Look for sculpting sensation Matthew Day Jacksons LIFE, June 12, 1944, a 2009 wall hanging made of lead, burned wood and paint at the booth of Amsterdam’s Grimm gallery.

SOFA (sculpture objects & functional art fair) at Navy Pier’s Festival Hall
Chicago
Nov. 6 – 8

Collectors flock here to see how creatively artists, designers and high-end artisans handle three dimensions. In addition to furniture and sculpture, some of the finest glass and ceramic wares can be found. Philadelphia’s Wexler Gallery is bringing Joel Philip Myerss blown-glass Kaleidoscope Blue, 1991, priced at $18,000. And look for artwork outside the booths: Sculptors are installing their own pieces around the fair as part of a new program called Solo at sofa.

Paris Photo at the Carrousel du Louvre
Paris
Nov. 19 – 22

The 12th edition of this forward-thinking fair sees a growing number of strong contemporary galleries joining the roster of established photography specialists. A special focus on Arab and Iranian artists brings eight young dealers from the Middle East and North Africa. Massimo Vitalis Sacred Pool, Turkey, 2008, from an edition of six, each priced at €20,000 (around $24,300), is among the works at the booth of New York veteran Bonni Benrubi.

Winter Fine Art & Antiques Fair, Olympia at Olympia National Hall
London
Nov. 16 – 22

The colossal weeklong show, produced in association with Britain’s leading art and antiques trade organizations, BADA and LAPADA, includes more than 230 U.K. dealers specializing in worldly wares, from Art Deco silver to Old Master paintings. An elaborate center table made around 1860, by Holland & Sons, one of the royal family’s favorites, and priced in the six figures graces the booth of London’s Butchoff Antiques.

Los Angeles Asian & Tribal Art Fair at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium
Los Angeles
Nov. 14 and 15

Ancient ceremonial objects share the floor with fine examples of contemporary craftsmanship at this ethnographic extravaganza, an important West Coast venue for art, textiles, jewelry, ceremonial objects and much more from Asia, Oceania, Africa and the Americas. A Jama-Coaque guerrero from Ecuador, circa 500 bc to 500 ad, is priced at $7,500 at the booth of Neil Becker New World Antiquities from West Harrison, New York
