A rare gallery retrospective of the work of Claude Monet, on view at Helly Nahmad through February 26, 2010, features major pictures spanning the Impressionist’s career, including canvases painted in Venice and London. · A large portion of one of the world’s most famous private troves of 18th-century Meissen porcelain, the Hoffmeister collection, hits the block on November 25 in a single-owner sale at Bonhams. Assembled over the past 40 years by two German brothers, and on view at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg for the past 10 years, the collection of more than 300 objects will be offered in three sales over the next year. PARIS New pieces by Stephan Balkenhol, known for his rough-hewn, painted wooden figures, are on view from November 24 through January 2010 at Galerie Thaddaeus.
