VIENNA—Top lot: The 1918 volume The Work of Gustav Klimt brought together 50 prints of paintings by the celebrated Austrian master and prefaced them with an introduction by the famous Viennese writers Hermann Bahr and Peter Altenberg. Although this copy, number 121 of 230 printed, sustained some damage to its original linen cover, it still managed to fetch an astounding €19,820 ($28,930), more than six times its high estimate.
