NEW YORK—News about Annie Leibovitz’s business dealings with Art Capital, a company that accepts art as loan collateral, has brought attention to the growing art finance field. Now two former Christie’s executives have announced that they have launched a consultancy to advise clients in the field as well.

Michael Plummer and Jeff B. Rabin say that they plan to use their new venture, Artvest Partners LLC, to advise clients on purchase and sale transactions, special-purpose investment partnerships, wealth transfer, and the restructuring of art business and collections.

Both partners formerly worked in Christie’s Financial Services Business, Plummer as chief operating officer and Rabin as vice president.
