Art Behind Bars: According to her attorney, Lindsay Lohan is whiling away her 90 days in prison "eating some Twizzlers" and "creating art." [Toronto Sun] 



– The Screenings Must Go On: LACMA's imperiled film program will be funded for a while longer thanks to a $75,000 million donation from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The museum, however, is still looking to raise $5 million more for its movieseries. [LAT]

– Restored and Remarkable: Karen Wilken does a thorough reading of Thomas Eakins's 1875 "Portrait of Dr. Samuel D. Gross (The Gross Clinic)," which is newly spruced up and on view at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. [WSJ]

– Nicholas Carone, 1917–2010: The artist, who was represented by the Washburn Gallery, was one of the last living Abstract Expressionists. [NYT]  


– Sam Francis Foundation Donates Work to the Milwaukee Art Museum: The gift includes 500 prints dating from the early 1960s to the 1990s. [ArtDaily] 


– Vermont Cow Vandal Caught?: A suspect accused of damaging various art cows in the Northeast Kingdom has been jailed. [AP]
