– If You Build It, They Will Fight?: The city of Rome is looking for $32 million in private funds to restore the Colosseum. [Art Daily]

– A Match Made in Sleaze Heaven: Mustachioed lurker Terry Richardson's photographs of the "Jersey Shore" cast are hilarious. [Terry's Diary]

– Ansel Adams Bonanza Enters Twilight Zone: The Adams family (notthat one) are seeking to stop Rick Norsigian, the Fresno-based artist claiming to have found a $200 million cache of negatives by the celebrated landscape photographer, from making a mint off the material — even though they can't sue on copyright grounds, since that would mean acknowledging that the material is authentic. [LAT]

– "Gossip Mongers Hail Him as an Artist": That would be notorious, anything-for-a-photo paparazzo Ron Gallela, the subject of the new documentary "Smash His Camera" — though in his review of the film, A.O. Scott points out that former Met director Thomas Hoving dismissed him "as a bottom feeder and a parasite whose work will decline in interest as the renown of its subjects evaporates." [NYT]

– In Praise of Ginormous Photos: Kodak's Colorama prints, long displayed in 18-by-60-foot format in Grand Central Station, have been collected for an exhibition at the George Eastman House in Rochester, New York, running through October. [NPR]

– The Show Will Not Go On: At least for a year, at New York's Cherry Lane theater, which will close its doors to restructure its finances. Currently it faces a $167,000 debt and its staff has been fending off eviction. [Theatermania]

– "The Teeth that Saved the World": A set of Winston Churchill's heroic, Hitler-thwarting dentures sold at a British auction yesterday for 15,200 pounds ($23,723). [Art Daily]

– "Pink Blood Spread on the Silver Sand": The potentially colorblind Jonathon Jones recalls of his own childhood trip to a bullfight in a piece on the history of depicting bullfighting in art, asking: "If we exclude bloody events like the bullfight from the human imagination, will we lose the capacity to make tragic art?" [Guardian]

– Naked Upside-Down Girls with Devil Horns: Appear in Marco Brambilla's new music video for Kanye West's "Power" single. "I like controversy,” Brambilla told the Times. “The more controversial it gets, the more interesting it is.” [NYT]

– Q&A with Oliver Watson: And who is he? The co-founder of the upcoming Tokyo art book fair! [Dazed Digital]

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Pipilotti Rist's spellbinding, stick-in-your-head-for-years-catchy video 1990 "Call Me Jackie" [YouTube]
