Last year artists Jean-Pierre Roy and Michael Kagan created the "Single Fare" show of MetroCard-based art at their humble Williamsburg studio space, and this year the delightful exhibition has taken the J train into Manhattan for its second run, at the Lower East Side's Sloan Fine Art gallery. Closing this weekend, "Single Fare 2: Please Swipe Again" has brought together some 1,300 wallet-friendly artworks — in terms of both their convenient size and $100 price per work — by artists of all ages, mediums, and professional profiles. In advance of the exhibition's finale, ARTINFO has pulled together a mix of pieces from the show, ranging from shadow-throwing mobile sculptures to painterly, impastoed portraits.
