What's your most Warholian trait? I say "Wow that's great" a lot, and he said "Wow that's great" a lot.

What is the closest thing to Warhol's Factory today? I don't know the answer to that question, but I think the closest thing to Andy Warhol today is Larry Gagosian. I think he is the figure of this moment that bridges worlds, like art and Hollywood or international jet-set. He's a real media-ready figure and a cipher. I don't know if Larry hangs out with drug addicts and drag queens, but I'm sticking with my answer.

What's the last show that you saw? "Unpainted Paintings," curated by Alison Gingeras, of rare works of art from the 1950s to the present — slashed, burned, smothered, stitched, poured, and decomposing — at Luxembourg & Dayan in New York.

What's the last show that surprised
you?
Huma Bhabha's sculptures at Salon94 Bowery

Why? I was stunned by the freshness and the beauty.

What's your favorite place to see art? Art fairs. I love the overdose.

Do you make a living off your art? Yes

What's the most indispensable item in
your studio?
The most indispensable part of my studio are the people who help me — Kyle Thurman, Kevin Stahl, and Raina Hamner.

Where are you finding ideas for your
work these days?
My own life, my own reality, and reality TV

Do you collect anything? I collect everything, but I try to just do it with my iPhone camera so that I don't end up like one of the subjects of the reality show "Hoarders: Buried Alive."

What's the last artwork you purchased? A Daniel McDonald sculpture of a rubber joke-shop chicken that is vomiting joke-shop vomit and shitting joke-shop shit. That reminds me, I still owe him the money!

If you were to give yourself a Rob Pruitt Art Award, what would it be for? Miss Non-Congeniality

What's the weirdest thing you ever saw
happen in a museum or gallery?
I've never seen anything weird happen in a museum or gallery.

What's your art-world pet peeve? I don't like being called a Pop Artist. I'm just an artist.

What's your favorite post-gallery
watering hole or restaurant?
The Smile

Do you have a gallery/museum-going
routine?
I just try to see as much as I can, honestly. Which sometimes is really not that much. I go to friends' openings and try to see the major museum shows in New York.

What's the last great book you read? "Saul Bellow: Letters"

What work(s) of art do you wish you
owned?
Manzoni's "Artist's Shit" or one of the pyramids of Giza

What would you do to get it? I don't know. Trade.

What international art destination do
you most want to visit?
Walter De Maria's "The Lightning Field" — I tend to love anything that was made in 1977.

What under-appreciated artist,
gallery, or work do you think people should know about?
I love Hanna Liden's work, but I don't know that she's under-appreciated; I don't really think about things like that. I just know that she's young.

Who's your favorite living artist? Jonathan Horowitz

What are your hobbies? I like traveling and I like staying at home with my cat, Mo.
